Questions and answers
Plain answers about the work, the towns this location covers and how a visit is booked.
What areas does AMG Duct Cleaning Somerville NJ serve?
Somerville and eight nearby towns: Raritan, Branchburg, Hillsborough, Manville, Millstone, Montgomery, Franklin and Rocky Hill. If your address is close to those towns but outside them, ask and the office will confirm coverage.
What services do you offer?
Nine, in four groups: air duct cleaning, repair and installation; dryer vent cleaning and installation; chimney cleaning and repair; and mold treatment and removal for duct systems plus HVAC UV light installation. Offices, practices and multi-unit buildings can book commercial duct and dryer vent work as well.
What are your hours?
The phone is answered 8 AM to 8 PM, 7 days a week, and visits are booked within those hours. Call (908) 332-0859 or use the estimate form.
Is the estimate free?
Yes. It comes from looking at the actual system, dryer run or chimney, so the scope is settled before any work is booked.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. AMG is registered with New Jersey as a Home Improvement Contractor under number 13VH13654300, carries insurance, and is veteran owned.
How can I tell whether the ducts need cleaning?
Dust puffing from the registers when the system starts, a return grille that grays quickly, signs of mice, a recent renovation, or a house with no cleaning history are the usual reasons. The EPA's guidance supports cleaning when there is visible mold growth, vermin, or dust and debris coming out of the registers.
Can the dryer vent and the ducts be done on the same visit?
Yes. The two are often booked together, since the crew and the equipment are already in the house. Mention both when you request the estimate so the visit is planned with enough time.
Do you work on chimneys in older Somerville houses?
Yes. The Victorian and early twentieth century houses around Somerville's downtown, and the historic houses of Rocky Hill and Millstone, have masonry chimneys that are swept and inspected, with caps, crowns, flashing and liners repaired when needed.
Does duct cleaning help with allergies?
It removes dust and debris from the system, but the EPA points out that duct cleaning has never been proven to prevent health problems, so AMG does not present it as an allergy or asthma treatment. For symptoms, talk with a doctor.
What should we do about the ducts after a flood?
Have the system inspected before running it. Insulated duct that sat in water should be replaced rather than cleaned, per the EPA, and the coil and drain pan checked for growth. In Manville, Somerville and the other river towns, that check belongs on the list after every serious storm.
Do you work with townhouse associations and landlords?
Yes. Associations often set rules for access and exterior work, and a landlord with a two-family house usually wants both units done at once. The crew coordinates with the management office or the owner and can provide a certificate of insurance on request.
How do I leave a review?
Open the Somerville Google profile from the reviews page and choose to write a review. Reviews that name the town and the service help your neighbors most.
